Two Louisiana Men Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Boat Parts and Drug Charges

Shreveport, Louisiana – On October 12, 2022, Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator reported that deputies arrested two men after they were allegedly caught with drugs and stolen property in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Patrol deputies were called to an address in the 3000 Block of Dixie Shreveport Road shortly before 6 p.m. on Tuesday in response to a call regarding a theft in progress. When Deputy Steven May and Deputy Josh Roppolo arrived, they indicated that they discovered Jason Normand, 42, and James Dupont, 55, with stolen boat parts in a white pickup truck, including an air compressor, tires, rims, motor brackets, fishing nets, and a boat seat.

Deputies recovered $1,175 in property, which was eventually returned to its rightful owners. Deputies discovered 10.3 grams of meth, 5 ecstasy tablets, 15.5 grams of marijuana, and two glass pipes throughout the investigation.

Normand and Dupont were arrested and booked into Caddo Correctional Center for felony theft, criminal trespassing, schedule I possession, and two counts of schedule II possession.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
