Two Louisiana Men Arrested and One Still Wanted After Suspected Marijuana, Methamphetamine, and Firearms Were Found in Vehicle

Sabine Parish, Louisiana – Two people were arrested in Louisiana on December 26, 2022, after a small amount of suspected marijuana and over 4 ounces of suspected methamphetamine were found in their vehicle, along with three guns. One of the suspects remains in jail on a $60,000 bond, while the other has bonded out on a $737 bond. An arrest warrant has been issued for a third person in connection with the incident.

On December 28, 2022, Sabine Parish Sheriff Aaron Mitchell announced the arrests of Scott William Wood, 41, of Noble, Louisiana, and Joey Michael Comoza, 45, of Logansport, Louisiana, on Monday afternoon, December 26, 2022.

Deputy Jacob Bridges was searching for a wanted person along Saline Church Road. Deputy Bridges reportedly witnessed a vehicle stopped behind him and a person, subsequently identified as 34-year-old Joseph Chad Castillo of Converse, Louisiana, flee from the vehicle. The vehicle attempted to depart the area, but Deputy Bridges was able to halt it on Saline Church Road.

Deputy Bridges discovered Comoza was the driver of the vehicle and Wood was a passenger.

After a brief examination, Deputy Bridges discovered a small amount of suspected marijuana, over 4 ounces of suspected methamphetamine, and three guns inside the vehicle.

Wood was booked into the Sabine Parish Detention Center for Possession with intent to distribute schedule II (Meth), Possession of firearm in presence of CDS, Possession of firearm by person convicted of certain felonies.

Wood’s bond was set at $60,000 by the 11th Judicial District Court, and he remains in jail.

Comoza was booked for Possession of schedule I (Marijuana), Reckless operation of a vehicle, No driver’s license.

Comoza’s bond was preset at $737, and he has since bonded out.

An arrest warrant was obtained for Castillo for Possession of firearm by person convicted of certain felonies, Possession of firearm with obliterated numbers.

A $500 cash reward has been offered for information leading to Castillo’s arrest.
