Two Juveniles Arrested in Louisiana For Allegedly Vandalizing a Sheriff’s Office Vehicle

St John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana – Two juveniles were arrested in Louisiana for allegedly vandalizing a sheriff’s office vehicle.

The St John the Baptist Parish Sheriff’s Office reported an instance of vandalism in their jurisdiction on June 2, 2023. On May 30, a police unit from the Sherriff’s Office had its back windshield damaged. A vehicle in the same vicinity was also spray-painted, and the glass was shattered. Graffiti was also found in Greenwood Park.

Further investigation revealed that two juveniles were caught on security camera hurling a rock at the sheriff’s office vehicle, breaking the back glass. The juveniles were also caught on camera throwing a rock and spray-painting another vehicle. The same teenagers were also seen on camera spray painting graffiti at Greenwood Park.

The two adolescents, ages 13 and 14, were positively identified and later confessed to detectives. Both adolescents were booked into Sherman Walker Correctional Center and released to their parents later that day on three counts of 14:56—Simple Criminal Damage to Property.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
