Two From Louisiana Killed and Two Seriously Injured in Head-On Crash on LA 57

Houma, Louisiana – Two people from Louisiana were killed and two others were seriously injured in a head-on crash on LA 57

Louisiana State Police (LSP) reported on February 20, 2023, that on February 19, 2023, soon after 4:00 p.m., LSP Troop C was notified of a two-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 57 near Dream Court. Craig Boudreaux, 50, and Cookie Boudreaux, 49, both of Houma, Louisiana, were killed in the crash.

The early investigation found that Jorge Hernandez, 60, of Houma, Louisiana, was driving a 2005 Mitsubishi Outlander north on LA Highway 57. Craig Boudreaux was driving a 2002 Chevy Silverado south at the same moment. The Mitsubishi reportedly crossed the centerline and collided with the Chevrolet for unknown reasons.

Craig Boudreaux and his passenger, Cookie Boudreaux, both died at the scene as a result of their injuries. Hernandez and his passenger were seriously injured and were sent to a hospital in the New Orleans region for treatment. At the time of the crash, all occupants were securely restrained.

A standard toxicological sample was collected from both drivers and submitted for processing.

While the cause of this crash is still being investigated, motorists should always make sound decisions when driving. Never drive while intoxicated, tired, or preoccupied.

So far in 2023, LSP Troop C has investigated three fatal crashes that resulted in four deaths.
