Two From Louisiana Arrested Suspected in August 31 Shooting Death in Laplace

Laplace, Louisiana – Two suspects from Louisiana have been arrested suspected in an August 31 shooting death in Laplace.

On the afternoon of Thursday, August 31, 2023, around 02:00 p.m., the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office was called to a shooting incident on the 1400 block of Cartier Dr. in Laplace, Louisiana.

Upon reaching the scene, the officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to a nearby hospital but later died from his injuries.

During their investigation, detectives from the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Criminal Investigations Division identified Jonathan Williams and Dederick Zeno, both from Laplace, Louisiana as suspects in the murder case.

Zeno was arrested at his home and later charged with aiding in a second-degree murder. He is currently being held on a $175,350 bond.

Williams was apprehended on a Greyhound bus heading to Atlanta, Georgia, with the help of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office. A stolen firearm was found with Williams, leading to a charge of second-degree murder against him. Williams remains in the custody of the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office.
