Two From Louisiana Arrested Following Multi-Parish Pursuit and Crash on Stolen Motorcycle

Caddo Parish, Louisiana - Two people from Louisiana have been arrested following a multi-parish pursuit and crash on a stolen motorcycle.

Caddo Parish Sheriff Steve Prator reported that on January 14, 2023, deputies arrested a man and a woman following a multi-parish pursuit.

Caddo deputies were notified of a vehicular pursuit entering Caddo Parish from DeSoto Parish on Interstate 49 North shortly before 4:30 a.m., according to authorities. On a stolen motorcycle, two people and a dog were pursued. Caddo deputies did not participate in the chase for safety reasons.

Caddo deputies were led to a business in the 3700 block of Jewella Avenue by updated information, where the female was seen getting off the motorcycle with the dog. She could not be found by police at the moment.
Shreveport Police later responded to a vehicle crash near Mansfield Road and Hoyte Drive around 6 a.m. A stolen motorcycle and a pickup truck were involved, but the motorcycle's driver fled the scene, prompting a search of the area.

Caddo K9 Corporal Marc Herring discovered the driver, Brandon Smith, 35, behind a business in the 9100 block of Mansfield Road at 6:01 a.m. Smith surrendered and was apprehended. Smith was reportedly carrying a concealed firearm.

Deputies returned to the scene where the woman had been dropped off. Caddo Corporal Keith Morgan discovered her in a trash dumpster with her motorcycle helmet and dog at 7:02 a.m. Jodie Anderson, 42, was apprehended at that time.

The crash caused no injuries, and the dog was picked up by Caddo Parish Animal Control.

Anderson, of the 4000 block of Noyes Drive in Shreveport, Louisiana was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a legend drug, and resisting an officer.

Smith, of Stonewall, Louisiana was arrested and booked into the Caddo Correctional Center on charges of aggravated flight from an officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and warrants from DeSoto Parish and Texas.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
