Two From Lake Charles Arrested for Drugs and Money Laundering

Two people from Lake Charles have been arrested and charged with possession of CDS I with intent to distribute (ecstasy); possession of CDS I with intent to distribute (synthetic marijuana); possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; money laundering transaction involving proceeds of criminal activity; and illegal use of a CDS in the presence of a juvenile following the execution of search warrants.
From the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, Lake Charles, LA – On April 27, detectives with the Combined Anti-Drug Task Force (C.A.T. Team) along with the CPSO Anti-Crime and Tactical Team (ACT-Team) executed a search warrant at the home of McQuinton D. Simon Sr., 37, and Jasmine Bordelon, 30, both of 2156 11th Street, Lake Charles, after an investigation revealed possible incidents of drug activity at the home. Upon execution of the warrant detectives located Simon and Bordelon at the home along with a small child.
During a search of the home detectives located approximately 231 ecstasy/MDMA tablets, 1 pound of synthetic marijuana, 4.55 grams of marijuana, along with drug paraphernalia. Detectives also seized $1,896 believed to be illegal proceeds from drug transactions. The total estimated street value of the illegal narcotics seized from the home is $2,000.
Simon and Bordelon were arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with possession of CDS I with intent to distribute (ecstasy); possession of CDS I with intent to distribute (synthetic marijuana); possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia; money laundering transaction involving proceeds of criminal activity; and illegal use of a CDS in the presence of a juvenile. Simon was additionally charged with obstruction of justice due to him destroying evidence while detectives executed the search warrant.
Judge Tony Fazzio set Simon’s bond at $103,000 and Bordelon’s bond at $31,000. Bordelon was released on bond the following day.
