Kenner, Louisiana – In a coordinated effort between multiple law enforcement agencies, two suspects were arrested on April 2, 2025, following an armed robbery in New Orleans that led to a police chase and subsequent crash in Kenner.
Charles Brown, 26, of Baton Rouge and Terry Williams, 22, of New Orleans were taken into custody after allegedly stealing a 2022 Dodge “Scat Pack” Charger during an armed robbery in the 4400 Block of America Street in New Orleans shortly before 3:00 p.m.
Detectives from the New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) Seventh District reached out to Louisiana State Police (LSP) detectives with the Violent Crime Abatement Investigative Team (VCAIT) to assist with the investigation. Through investigative techniques, authorities located the stolen vehicle in Kenner approximately one hour after the robbery.
“When Troopers from Troop B attempted to conduct a traffic stop near Williams Boulevard and Veterans Memorial Boulevard, the driver, later identified as Brown, refused to comply and fled,” according to the police report.
The pursuit was brief, ending when the stolen Charger collided with an LSP vehicle at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and 24th Street. During a search of the vehicle, officers discovered two firearms—one of which was reported stolen—and approximately 125 grams of marijuana.
Neither suspect sustained injuries in the crash. Both were transported to the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center where they face numerous charges.
Brown’s charges include aggravated flight from an officer, possession of stolen property, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, proceeds from drug transactions, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a firearm in the presence of controlled dangerous substances, possession of a stolen firearm, and an outstanding warrant from NOPD for armed robbery.
Williams faces charges of possession of stolen property, possession with intent to distribute marijuana, and an outstanding warrant for armed robbery.
The case demonstrates the increasing regional cooperation between law enforcement agencies in the greater New Orleans area to address violent crime and vehicle theft. The investigation remains ongoing.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
