Traffic Stop in Louisiana Leads to Arrest for Alleged Possession of a Firearm and Various Narcotics in Shreveport
Shreveport, Louisiana – A traffic stop in Louisiana led to an arrest for the alleged possession of a firearm and various narcotics in Shreveport.
Shreveport Police Department confirmed on March 28, 2023, that on March 24, at about 5:45 p.m., Shreveport Police Community Response Unit members performed a traffic stop at Hollywood Avenue and Jewella Avenue.
Officers made contact with Myron Lawson, 22, during the traffic stop. Authorities reportedly discovered Lawson in possession of a handgun and various narcotics.
Police reported seizing a firearm, marijuana packaged for sale, a scale, methamphetamine tablets, and over $5,000 in cash. Lawson was charged with possession of a firearm with a controlled dangerous substance, possessing a schedule two narcotic with intent to distribute, and possessing a schedule one narcotic with intent to distribute.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
