Lake Charles, Louisiana – Beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, November 15, the eastbound lanes of East Prien Lake Road, between Louisiana Avenue and Enterprise Boulevard, will be closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The closure is necessary for contractors to undertake a major underground utility infrastructure project initiated by CenterPoint Energy.

The project involves the replacement of a main utility line, which is vital for the uninterrupted supply of essential services. To ensure the safety of workers and the general public, the eastbound lanes of East Prien Lake Road will remain closed throughout the duration of the project. However, the road will be reopened to traffic on weekends and holidays to minimize inconvenience for commuters.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 30. During this time, motorists are advised to utilize alternative routes to avoid the affected section of East Prien Lake Road. Signs will be posted to guide drivers to detours and alternate routes.

The City of Lake Charles has been working closely with CenterPoint Energy to coordinate the project and minimize any disruptions to the community. Officials urge residents and businesses in the area to plan accordingly and allow for extra travel time during the construction period.
