Three Suspects Arrested in Louisiana on Multiple Charges Including Attempted 2nd-degree Murder After Shots were Fired in Front of a Business

Ascension Parish, Louisiana – Three suspects have been arrested in connection with a shooting incident in Louisiana on January 19. The suspects have been charged with a range of offenses, including attempted 2nd-degree murder, possession of a stolen vehicle, illegal use of a weapon, and more.

Ascension Parish Sheriff Bobby Webre reported that detectives have arrested three suspects in connection with a shooting incident that occurred the morning of Thursday, January 19 at a location on Hwy 74 near Old Jefferson.

According to authorities, shortly after 10:00 am on January 19, deputies responded to reports of shots fired at a store on Hwy 74. Deputies located a vehicle involved in the incident and apprehended two male subjects, Brandon Ellis and Armarius Williams, who fled from deputies. Through further investigation, detectives learned that a third suspect, Marques Gipson, was also involved in the shooting incident. He was found at a nearby residence along Hwy 74.

During their investigation, detectives learned Gipson was exiting a store when he was approached by Ellis and Williams. The three men opened fire at each other, with gunshots striking a nearby store and several parked vehicles. No injuries were reported.

Brandon Ellis of Darrow, Louisiana, Armarius Williams of Darrow, Louisiana, and Marques Gipson of Geismar, Louisiana were those arrested.

Brandon Ellis, 27, was arrested and charged with Attempted 2nd-degree murder, Aggravated flight, Possession of a stolen vehicle, Possession of a stolen plate, Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal use of a weapon

Armarius Williams, 20 was arrested and charged with Attempted 2nd-degree murder, Aggravated Flight, Reckless Operation of a motor vehicle, Aggravated Damage of Property, Illegal use of a weapon, Possession of a stolen vehicle, and Possession of a stolen plate.

Marques Gipson, 18 was arrested and charged with 4 counts of attempted 2nd-degree murder, 5 counts of aggravated damage to property, Illegal use of a weapon, and Possession of a stolen firearm.
