Three Louisiana Teens Charged in Carjacking After Allegedly Stealing a Vehicle at Gunpoint and Crashing it
Lafourche Parish, Louisiana – Three Louisiana teenagers have been charged with carjacking after allegedly stealing a vehicle at gunpoint and crashing it.
Lafourche Parish Sheriff Craig Webre reported on May 17, 2023, that three teenage suspects had been charged following a carjacking in Thibodaux, Louisiana. The three teenagers were apprehended after crashing the stolen vehicle hours after it was taken.
According to the Lafourche Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a carjacking in the 100 block of Michelle Place in Thibodaux, Louisiana, at about 3:30 p.m. on May 12, 2023. Three males in their teens allegedly flagged down the driver of a black sedan and then stole the automobile at gunpoint.
The victim’s car was involved in a crash on May 13, 2023, at about 12:30 a.m. Three minor injuries were sustained by three teenagers who were inside the automobile at the time of the crash. The 17-year-old male and two 15-year-old males were sent to a nearby hospital for treatment. Because of their involvement in the crime, each was later charged.
Authorities indicated that the probe into the carjacking is still ongoing.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
