Three From Louisiana Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on LA 308
Louisiana – Louisiana State Police reported on June 26, 2022, that shortly after 5:00 a.m., LSP Troop C was notified of a two-vehicle fatality crash on Louisiana Highway 308, about half a mile south of Louisiana Highway 3220. (Bellevue Bridge). Grant Gremillion, 47, of Sulphur, Louisiana, Ramiro Pineda-Perez, 44, of Berwick, Louisiana, and Alexander Vigil, 38, of Morgan City, Louisiana, were killed in the crash.
Gremillion was driving a 2013 Ford F-250 north on LA Hwy 308, according to preliminary investigations. Pineda-Perez was driving a 2010 Chrysler 300 south on LA Hwy 308 at the same time. Gremillion crossed the centerline into the path of the Chrysler while in a right curve for reasons that are still being investigated. Pineda-Perez attempted to avoid a collision by steering to the right, but was hit by a Ford pickup truck. As the vehicles came to a stop, the impact caused the Ford to overturn and the Chrysler to travel off the road.
Gremillion was unrestrained at the time of the crash and died as a result of his injuries. Pineda-Perez and his passenger, Vigil, were both restrained at the time of the accident and died as a result of their injuries. All were declared dead at the scene. Both drivers provided toxicology samples, which were then analyzed.
Louisiana State Police said that while the cause of this crash is still being investigated, motorists should always make sound decisions when driving. Never drive while intoxicated, tired, or distracted.
