Three From Louisiana Arrested For Allegedly Selling Stolen Crawfish Valued at $12k and Possession of Drugs

Jeff Davis Parish, Louisiana – Three people from Louisiana have been arrested for allegedly selling stolen crawfish valued at $12,000 and possession of drugs.

The Jeff Davis Parish Sheriff’s Office stated on May 15, 2023, that on May 13, deputies were summoned to an address in Welsh, Louisiana’s 11100 Block of David Road in relation to a narcotics complaint and theft.

A farmer alleged that his workers were found with narcotics and were selling the farmer’s crawfish after work without his permission or knowledge.

Deputies arrested Erasmo Armenta Atondo, 31, of Maurice, Louisiana for possession of CDS II and Theft, Miguel Angel Garcia, 28, of Welsh, Louisiana for possession of CDS II and Theft, and Jesus Salvador, 27 of Welsh, Louisiana for Theft.

According to authorities, the farmer estimated the theft of crawfish to be valued near $12,000.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
