The SWLA Economic Development Alliance ‘Build Our Bridge’ Campaign Launches New Website
From The SWLA Economic Development Alliance –
Chamber SWLA’s I‐10 Bridge Task Force – ‘Build Our Bridge’ campaign aims to refocus and implement recommendations for replacing the ailing I-10 Calcasieu River Bridge.
After 15 months of research and analysis, the I‐10 Bridge Task Force provided detailed recommendations for an innovative public-private-partnership (P3) to construct a new six‐lane bridge with shoulders and a pedestrian walkway, located immediately north of, and parallel to, the existing bridge, with ingress and egress at Sampson Street over the railway into the City of Westlake. Based on the proposed plan, the new bridge could be completed within three years once construction begins.
The I-10 Bridge Task Force is comprised of business leaders and officials throughout Southwest Louisiana from a wide range of professional fields. Each member has pledged their volunteer service would not be used to derive benefit for themselves, their employers or families.
