The City of Sulphur Issues Press Release Regarding Discolored Tap Water May 8, 2019
From the City of Sulphur – The City is currently undergoing an emergency well repair that is primarily affecting the
west side of the City. Residents in that area may notice rusty or discolored water from elevated iron levels.
Although the water is discolored, it is still being testing by DHH and is safe to drink, but
it may stain laundry.
The City is offering a stain remover product at no cost at the following locations:
• City Hall, 101 N. Huntington – Directions
• Water Plant, 119 East Verdine Street – Directions
The City of Sulphur wants to assure residents that they are making every attempt to keep these impacts to a minimum.
