Boil Advisory Issued February 5, 2019, in Sulphur Has Been Lifted
From the City of Sulphur – Effective February 14, 2019, the boil advisory for the City of Sulphur has been rescinded. Water samples collected by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals – Office of Public Health have tested negative for coliform bacteria.

The City of Sulphur is issuing a Precautionary Boil Advisory to areas from E. Napoleon Street to Fairview Avenue and Hazel Street to Cities Service Hwy
Due to a 12-inch water line break on Maplewood Drive, water pressure in certain areas may have dipped below the required levels. The City of Sulphur is issuing a Precautionary Boil Advisory to the affected areas from E. Napoleon Street to Fairview Avenue and Hazel Street to Cities Service Hwy.
The affected areas include all streets within these bounds including sections of:
- Kerry Circle
- New Castle Drive
- Tempo Street
- Cork Lane
- Gist Lane
- Lynn Lane
- Production Drive
- Allison Lane
- Marilyn Drive
- Kingston Road
- Bayou Bend Drive
- Advent Ave
- Garden Street
- Madison Street
- Vine Street
- Maplewood Drive
- N. Hazel Street
- S. Hazel Street
- Fairview Avenue
- E. Napoleon Street
- Cities Service Hwy
If you were without water in this area, run faucets until water runs clear then take precaution and boil water before consumption.
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one-minute starts after the water has been brought to a rolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one clean container to another, or by adding a small pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled).
The City of Sulphur will notify the affected areas once clear samples have been received from the State Laboratory.
