Texas Man Indicted in Federal Court in Louisiana in Connection with Distribution of More than 250 Files Containing Child Pornography

Louisiana – On October 18, 2022, the Department of Justice U.S. Attorney’s Office Middle District of Louisiana reported that a federal grand jury recently returned a three-count indictment in a federal court in Louisiana charging James Martin, 50, of Beckville, Texas, with distribution of child pornography. Martin appeared for his arraignment and pled not guilty to the pending charges.

According to the criminal complaint that accompanied the indictment, Martin transmitted more than 250 sexually graphic videos and images of young children, including toddlers, to an undercover FBI agent in the Middle District of Louisiana between July 2022 and August 2022.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation, the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, and the Panola County Sheriff’s Office are all looking into the case. Assistant United States Attorney Edward H. Warner is prosecuting this case.

An indictment or bill of information is merely an allegation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
