Texas Man Dies in Crash at Boat Launch in Calcasieu Parish
Lake Charles, LA – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office reported on March 9, 2022, that on March 5 at approximately 11:45 p.m., CPSO Dispatch was notified by ONSTAR about a possible crash at a boat launch on Old Highway 90.
When deputies arrived, they discovered a car that had driven into the water and had become completely submerged. The CPSO Marine Division and Dive Team were called in to recover the driver, Christopher L. Williams, 36, of Katy, Texas, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation is still ongoing, and the exact cause of the incident is unknown. A toxicology report will be performed on the driver, as required by state law.
The cause of death will be determined by the Calcasieu Coroner.
