Lake Charles, Louisiana – On Saturday, March 1, at approximately 11:00 p.m., a deputy from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office was conducting a routine patrol when he heard what he believed to be a gunshot in the 800 block of McNeese Street in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Responding to the sound, the deputy rolled down his window to better assess the situation and noticed a disturbance coming from a nearby business on East McNeese Street.

Upon further investigation, the deputy encountered an individual who matched the description of a potential suspect provided by witnesses. The suspect was later identified as 19-year-old Kaden L. Williams from Neches, Texas. During the encounter, deputies discovered that Williams was in possession of a firearm.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Williams had caused a disturbance inside the business, which led to him being asked to leave the premises. However, Williams did not cease his disruptive behavior and continued to cause a scene in the parking lot. This escalation resulted in an altercation with business personnel, during which Williams discharged his firearm before fleeing the scene.

Following the incident, law enforcement apprehended Williams, who was subsequently booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center. He faces several charges, including entry or remaining after being forbidden, two counts of aggravated assault with a firearm, and illegal use of a weapon. Judge Tony Fazzio has set his bond at $85,500.

The arresting deputy in this case was Sergeant Cody Fontenot of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, who responded to the unfolding situation.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
