Texas Man Arrested by Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office for Video Voyeurism

Lake Charles, LA – According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, on January 24, 2022, detectives received a complaint about a victim finding a nude video of herself. The victim informed detectives that the video was taken without her permission.
Cullen C. Schmidt, 22, of Lumberton, Texas, was identified as the person responsible for the video after further investigation. The next day, detectives issued a warrant for his arrest in the amount of $95,000, signed by Judge Tony Fazzio. He was arrested in Texas on January 26 and extradited to Calcasieu Parish on January 31.
He was booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with video voyeurism.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
