Texas Driver Killed in Nighttime Crash in Louisiana After Stopping Vehicle in Travel Lane on I-10

Iberville Parish, Louisiana – A Texas driver was killed in a nighttime crash in Louisiana after they stopped their vehicle in a travel lane on I-10.

Louisiana State Police (LSP) stated on May 12, 2023, that on May 11, just after 11:30 p.m., Troopers with Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle crash on Interstate 10 westbound, near milepost 129 in Iberville Parish. Khamphout Senesanouk, 48, of Texas, died as a result of the crash.

According to LSP, the preliminary inquiry found that Senesanouk was driving a Toyota Camry east on Interstate 10. The Camry came to a stop in the right lane of traffic for unknown reasons. Following that, an 18-wheeler tractor-trailer collided with the back end of the Camry.

Although seatbelt use is unknown at this time, Senesanouk died at the scene from his injuries. The 18-wheeler driver was properly restrained and unharmed. A toxicological sample was acquired from both drivers as part of the continuing inquiry and will be analyzed. This crash is still being investigated.
