Temporary Traffic Light at LA 27 and Burton Shipyard Road Near Carlyss Starting May 4

UPDATE – On April 29, 2022, LADOTD announced that the traffic light will begin operation May 4, 2022. It was previously scheduled to begin operation on May 5th.

Calcasieu Parish – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development has announced that they will begin operation of a new Temporary Traffic Control Signal at the intersection of LA 27 and Burton Shipyard Road on Thursday May 4th, 2022.

This temporary control traffic signal is being utilized to improve traffic flow and increase safety during the construction phase of the LNG facility on Burton Shipyard Road. All drivers approaching the intersection should be aware that they must follow the indications of the traffic control signal.

LADOTD has indicated that advance notification will be provided on the intersection approaches with temporary Portable Changeable Message Signs (PCMS) and warning signage.

On the day of installation, stop bars will be added to indicate where motorist must stop in advance of the traffic signal.
