Tactical Narcotics Team in Louisiana Arrests Two Suspects After Reportedly Locating Methamphetamine and Fentanyl During a Traffic Stop
Sabine Parish, Louisiana – A Tactical Narcotics Team in Louisiana arrested two suspects after they reportedly found methamphetamine and fentanyl during a traffic stop.
On May 22, 2023, the Sabine Parish Sheriff’s Office stated that on May 19, Tactical Narcotics Team Agents assigned to the Criminal Patrol Unit performed a traffic stop on a red 2022 Kia on Highway 6 East in Fort Jesup for careless operation of a vehicle.
Agents approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Alyssa Delatin, according to authorities. Agents then observed four unrestrained juveniles in the vehicle, one of whom was in the back hatch area. Authorities also reportedly detected a marijuana stench emanating from the vehicle while conversing with Delatin. When asked about the stench, the passenger admitted to using marijuana in the vehicle previously. All occupants were then requested to depart the vehicle, and the vehicle was searched. A 1/4 pound of methamphetamine (120 Grams), 19 fentanyl tablets, packing material, and a scale were discovered as a consequence of the vehicle search.
Tactical Narcotics Team Investigation Unit agents came to the traffic stop to assist.
As a result of the investigation, Alyssa Delatin was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent Schedule II, Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile, and multiple vehicle and driving-related infractions.
Brittany McCollister, the front seat passenger and owner of the vehicle was also arrested and booked for Possession with Intent Schedule ll and Possession of CDS in the Presence of a Juvenile.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
