Suspects Arrested in Connection with Three Separate Louisiana Arson Cases
The Louisiana State Fire Marshal’s Office (LASFM) reported on November 23, 2022, that it has made arrests in three separate arson investigations, one dating back to 2018.
Datril Nichols, 47, has been charged with Simple Arson and Taking of a Motor Vehicle in connection with a car fire in Independence, Louisiana in August 2022.
Angela Wilson Grady, 44, has been charged with Simple Arson and Criminal Conspiracy in connection with a mobile home fire on October 15 in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. This arrest follows the arrest of her husband, William Grady, Sr., in connection with the fire.
Wileshia Grady, 23, was charged with one count of Conspiracy to Commit Aggravated Arson in connection with a house fire in Hammond, Louisiana on November 8, 2018. There were three individuals inside the house at the time of the incident, but no one was hurt. This matter arose during the investigation of the Ponchatoula fire on October 15.
The LASFM would like to thank the Ponchatoula and Hammond Police Departments, the St. Helena Sheriff’s Office, and the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office for their assistance in these instances.
All three investigations remain open.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
