Suspect in Louisiana Arrested During Mardi Gras Festivities with Over 200 Fentanyl Tablets, a Gun, and Other Drugs
Louisiana – A suspect in Louisiana has been arrested during Mardi Gras festivities with over 200 fentanyl tablets, a gun, and other drugs.
Louisiana (LSP) State Police reported that on February 18, 2023, during Mardi Gras festivities in New Orleans, Louisiana, Troopers on proactive patrol in the French Quarter made a large arrest and seized over 200 Fentanyl tablets, a gun, $4,200, and other illegal narcotics and paraphernalia.
Fentanyl is a highly potent synthetic opioid that can be up to 100 times stronger than morphine. It is frequently added to counterfeit medicines, making it considerably more dangerous because the pills may be sold on the street as something completely different. Those who unwittingly consume these counterfeit medications are in considerable danger of overdose and perhaps death.
It is also crucial to note that fentanyl is an extremely hazardous chemical, and even a small amount can be lethal, according to Louisiana State Police. Stay aware and safe to protect yourself and others around you.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
