Suspect in Louisiana Arrested by Street Crimes Unit in Connection with Drug and Firearms Charges in Alexandria

Alexandria, Louisiana – A suspect in Louisiana was arrested by the Street Crimes Unit in connection with drug and firearms charges in Alexandria.

The Alexandria Police Department (APD) revealed on May 13, 2023, that on May 11, the APD Street Crimes Unit made multiple arrests, including the arrest of 28-year-old Dontay Ross of Alexandria, Louisiana.

Ross was charged with Resisting an Officer, Possession of CDS I (Marijuana) with Intent, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Possession of Firearms with Drugs, Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Firearm with an Obliterated Serial Number.

Alexandria Police indicated that this is an ongoing investigation.

Authorities are asking that anyone with information on this or any other type of crime in the Alexandria area contact the Alexandria Police Detective Division at (318) 441-6416, or APD Dispatch at (318) 441-6559.

Authorities also indicated that those with information can call Crime Stoppers of Cenla at (318) 443-7867 for a cash reward. An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
