Sulphur, Louisiana – The city of Sulphur is set to celebrate the grand reopening of Kyle Street Park, a recreational space that underwent significant renovations following the devastating effects of Hurricane Laura in 2020. The revamped park, located at 202 Kyle Street in Sulphur, Louisiana, boasts an array of exciting amenities designed to cater to diverse interests and age groups.

The park’s rebirth is a testament to the city’s commitment to providing high-quality open spaces, which are a hallmark of Sulphur’s Parks and Recreation (SPAR) system.

The newly rebuilt Kyle Street Park offers a soft surface playground, perfect for young children to burn off energy while ensuring safety. Basketball enthusiasts will appreciate the outdoor pavilion, while those seeking a more leisurely experience can stroll along the walking path or relax in the shaded sitting areas. Picnic tables and grassy areas provide ample space for families and friends to gather and enjoy the outdoors.

Indoor enthusiasts are not left out, as the park features a state-of-the-art gymnasium, indoor pickleball courts, and a recreation room. These amenities cater to a wide range of interests, from sports and fitness to social gatherings and community events.

To mark the park’s grand reopening, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled to take place on Friday, October 25, 2024, at 10:00 am inside the gymnasium. Community members are invited to attend the ceremony and experience the park’s new amenities firsthand.
