Sulphur, Louisiana – The City of Sulphur will implement temporary road closures on Saturday, October 18, 2025, to accommodate the 15th Annual Stars and Stripes Classic Car Show at The Grove Park.

Multiple streets in the downtown area will be closed to vehicular traffic from 7 a.m. to approximately 4:30 p.m. to facilitate the event. The closures include Cypress Street from Hickory Street to Huntington Street, S. Ruth Street from Ash Street to Pecan Street, and the entirety of Pecan Street.

The Stars and Stripes Classic Car Show, now in its 15th year, represents a significant community event in Sulphur. The annual gathering showcases vintage and classic automobiles, drawing enthusiasts and spectators to The Grove Park.

Motorists planning to travel through the affected areas should seek alternative routes during the closure period. The city anticipates reopening all streets to normal traffic flow by 4:30 p.m., though the exact timing may vary depending on event activities and breakdown schedules.

The road closures are necessary to ensure public safety and provide adequate space for displaying vehicles, accommodating pedestrian traffic, and managing event logistics. Classic car shows typically require street access to create display areas and allow attendees to view automobiles safely.

Residents and visitors attending the event should plan accordingly for parking and access to The Grove Park.
