Sulphur, Louisiana - Residents in parts of Sulphur may hear louder-than-normal noise early Friday morning as work continues on the East Verdine Water Plant Expansion Project, according to a notice from the City of Sulphur.
The city said the noise is expected to begin at 4 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2026.
The advisory applies to residents on E. Verdine Street from N. Huntington Road to Hildebrant Street, as well as Hildebrant Street from E. Verdine Street to E. Lincoln Street. People in surrounding areas may also notice the increased noise.
City officials said the disruption is tied to the ongoing East Verdine Water Plant Expansion Project, a public infrastructure project involving the city’s water system.
No additional details were provided about the specific type of work scheduled for that time or how long the elevated noise levels may last.
The notice serves as an early warning for nearby households and property owners who may want to plan for possible sleep disruption or other temporary inconvenience during the overnight and early morning hours.
The City of Sulphur did not announce any road closures or service interruptions in the advisory. The message focused only on the potential for increased noise connected to construction activity.
The East Verdine Water Plant Expansion Project is one of the city projects now underway in Sulphur, where utility improvements can sometimes require work outside standard daytime hours.
