SULPHUR, La. — Families in Sulphur and across Calcasieu Parish will have a new date to mark on their spring calendars. The City of Sulphur and Sulphur Parks and Recreation have scheduled the annual Easter Egg Hunt for Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Heritage Square in Sulphur.

The community event is set to offer a full morning of children’s activities, egg hunts, and a visit from the Easter Bunny.

Morning Activities Before The Egg Hunts

Activities at Heritage Square are planned from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Local organizations will host family-friendly booths and events on-site, providing games and interactive experiences for children ahead of the egg hunts.

The Almosta Ranch Petting Zoo is scheduled to be part of the lineup, giving children the chance to see and interact with animals under controlled conditions.

The Easter Bunny is expected to be present throughout the morning, allowing time for photos and interactions before the hunts begin.

Egg Hunts Staggered By Age Group

The egg hunts themselves are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. at Heritage Square. To help manage crowds and keep the event organized, hunts will be staggered by age group. This approach allows younger children to search in a safer, less crowded space, while older children have their own designated times and areas.

Age groups for the hunts will include:

  • Special needs
  • Ages 0–2
  • Ages 3–4
  • Ages 5–6
  • Ages 7–8
  • Ages 9–10
  • Ages 11–12

Each age category will have its own egg hunt period. Staggering helps reduce congestion on the field and gives every group a reasonable chance at finding eggs.

Golden Eggs And Prize Tickets

Organizers have also included a prize element in the event. Within each age group’s hunting area, children will be able to search for golden eggs. These special eggs will contain winning tickets that can be turned in for a prize.

Each age group will have winning tickets that can be found in golden eggs throughout the hunt and turned in for a special prize.

Opportunities For Local Organizations

The City of Sulphur and Sulphur Parks and Recreation are also inviting community groups to take part in the event. Local organizations that wish to host an activity, set up a booth, or otherwise participate can contact organizers in advance.

Groups interested in being involved are asked to reach out by phone at 337-527-4505 or by email at [email protected]. Organizers did not provide a participation deadline in the event details, but early contact is typically recommended for planning purposes.
