Sulphur, Louisiana - A juvenile with special needs was found unharmed Monday morning after wandering away from a residence where adults had allegedly been consuming marijuana and alcohol, according to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office.

Deputies responded to a call at approximately 6:45 a.m. on April 3 regarding a missing child on Mosswood Drive in Sulphur, Louisiana. The investigation revealed that a party had taken place at the residence the previous night, where attendees were reportedly using marijuana and consuming alcoholic beverages.

Authorities determined that the child, who has special needs, had walked away from the home during the early morning hours after being left without proper supervision. Following a two-hour search effort involving multiple agencies, the child was located at approximately 8:45 a.m., sleeping in a car seat on the front porch of a nearby residence.

Shaine D. Wilson, 31, of Sulphur, Louisiana was subsequently arrested in connection with the incident. Wilson faces charges of illegal use of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under the age of 17, as well as improper supervision of a minor. As of the time of the report, bond had not yet been set.

The search operation involved cooperation from several local agencies, including the Sulphur Police Department, Ward 4 Marshal's Office, Carlyss Fire Department, Mosswood Estates management, and Calcasieu Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP).

Detective William Vaughan of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office is leading the ongoing investigation.
