Investigators determined that Boston and Mott exchanged gunfire during an altercation. After gathering evidence and further investigation, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Mott on July 6. Authorities report that on July 7 at around 2:30 p.m., Mott turned himself in at the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was subsequently booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center.

Mott faces charges of second-degree murder and illegal use of a weapon during a crime of violence. Judge Tony Fazzio has set Mott’s bond at $900,000. The sheriff’s office stated that the investigation is ongoing and that more arrests may occur as the case develops. Detective Lauren Manuel has been identified as the lead investigator.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
