Lake Charles, LA – On February 13, deputies from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office were sent to a residence on Mosswood Drive in Sulphur, Louisiana regarding a report of a missing juvenile.
During the investigation, deputies found a 14-year-old girl who had been reported missing inside the home. Upon speaking with her, they learned that a resident of the house, 21-year-old Kelvon K. Brown from Sulphur, Louisiana had allegedly engaged in sexual intercourse with her. According to reports from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, when detectives interviewed Brown, he verified the claims made against him.
He was then arrested and taken to the Calcasieu Correctional Center, where he was charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Judge Kendrick Guidry established his bail at $25,000.Detective Cory Myers from CPSO SVU is the primary investigator assigned to this case.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
