Sulphur Man Arrested Accused of Indecent Behavior and Sexual Battery of a Juvenile Family Member

Sulphur, Louisiana - On November 13, detectives from the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office received a report alleging that Daniel S. Floyd, 38, of Sulphur, Louisiana had engaged in inappropriate sexual behavior with a family member.

Through their investigation, detectives discovered that Floyd had been sexually abusing the girl on multiple occasions since 2018 when she was under the age of 12. It was also revealed that Floyd had compelled the victim to engage in inappropriate and sexually explicit conversations with other men on a website.

Following further investigation, Floyd was arrested on December 1 and taken to the Calcasieu Correctional Center, where he was charged with 4 counts of indecent behavior with juveniles and 2 counts of sexual battery. His bond was set at $4 million by Judge Tony Fazzio.

Detective Eric Perry from the CPSO Special Victims Unit is leading the investigation into this case.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
