Sulphur, Louisiana – The City of Sulphur is gearing up for its annual Kiwanis Christmas Parade, and with it comes a series of road closures to ensure the event runs smoothly and safely. On Saturday, December 7th, 2024, at approximately 9:00 a.m., barricades will be placed at several key locations along the parade route.

The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. at W.W. Lewis Middle School on Cypress Street, heading west down Cypress Street and culminating at the intersection of Cypress and Ruth Street. As a result, Cypress Street will see several intersections closed off to traffic, including those with Beglis Parkway, Loretto Avenue, LaSalette Avenue, Placide Drive, Stelly Lane/Maple Street, First Avenue, Willow/Kent Drive, Hickory Street, and S. Huntington Street.

In addition to the Cypress Street closures, Bryan/Ash Street will also be affected, with barricades set up at the intersection with S. Ruth Street. Furthermore, the west entrance of Chase Bank on Maplewood Drive (S-Curve) will be closed off, and Ruth Street will be closed from Pecan Street to Cypress Street.

West Calcasieu Cameron Hospital will remain accessible throughout the duration of the parade. Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra time to reach their destinations.

Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to come out and enjoy the parade.
