Sulphur, Louisiana – The city of Sulphur has announced that all city offices will be closed on Monday, November 11th, 2024, in observance of Veteran’s Day. This federal holiday honors the men and women who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Despite the office closures, residents can expect a regular waste collection schedule, according to Waste Management. The company has confirmed that there will be no delay in service due to the holiday.

Residents are advised to follow their usual waste collection routine, with no changes to the pickup schedule. This means that trash and recyclables will be collected on their regular days, without any interruption.

The city’s decision to close offices on Veteran’s Day is in line with federal guidelines, which designate November 11th as a public holiday. The holiday is traditionally marked with parades, ceremonies, and other events to honor the nation’s veterans.

While city offices will be closed, emergency services will remain operational, and residents can still contact the authorities in case of an emergency.
