Sulphur Begins First Phase of FEMA PPDR Program – Feb 1st Kickoff for Eligible Applicants

Sulphur, Louisiana – The initial phase of FEMA’s Personal Property Debris Removal (PPDR) program, which focuses on vegetative debris such as trees that are downed or leaning, will commence on Thursday, February 1, 2024. This phase specifically caters to applicants who applied between July 2021 and March 2022.

Applicants who have applied for the second phase of PPDR, specifically for demolition purposes, are currently waiting for FEMA Obligation. The City of Sulphur will release a press statement with an update on the progress once the starting date of the project is determined.

New applications are not being accepted for this Hurricane Laura debris removal project, and there will not be any opportunities to apply in the future.

If you are not participating in the FEMA PPDR program, any debris that is put at the roadside must adhere to the guidelines set by Waste Management.
