Student in Louisiana Arrested After Allegedly Making A Terrorizing Threat in Response to Anger Toward a Teacher
Caddo Parish, Louisiana – A student in Louisiana has been arrested after allegedly making a terrorizing threat in response to anger toward a teacher.
According to the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office, investigators arrested a juvenile for allegedly threatening to harm someone at school.
According to authorities, a C.E. Byrd High School student was arrested just after the morning bell for reportedly threatening gun violence at school via a social media post. Authorities indicated that another student who witnessed the threat on Instagram reported it.
Detectives were reportedly able to discover the identity of the student who posted the message during the inquiry. The juvenile and their mother were contacted. The student was arrested and read their Miranda rights while their parent was there. Immediately after being read their rights, the juvenile reportedly acknowledged to sending the message in response to anger toward a teacher.
The student was charged with Terrorizing on one count. The juvenile was then released to their parent and is currently suspended from school pending a hearing.
An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
