Store Manager in Louisiana Arrested for Theft from Employer After Being Caught on Camera by the Corporate Office

Lake Charles, Louisiana – The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office confirmed on August 30, 2022, that on August 23, CPSO deputies received a complaint from the corporate office of a store located on Nelson Road in Lake Charles, Louisiana, regarding an employee who was stealing from the store.

During the initial inquiry, the complainant informed investigators that the store’s manager, Randy C. Seales, 44, of Lake Charles, Louisiana, had stolen around $1,300 in groceries and merchandise. According to the complainant, Seales would place store products in plastic bags and store them in his office until he departed for the day, at which point he would bring them to his car without paying for them.

During a further investigation, investigators reviewed store security footage and showed Seales grabbing things and either consuming them or transporting them to his car without paying. Detectives made contact with Seales at the business on August 29. When detectives met with Seales, he admitted to stealing things from the store. The thefts occurred between May and August 2022, according to detectives.

Seales was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with theft of $1,000 to $5,000. He was released later the same day on a $3,500 bond set by Judge Tony Fazzio.

Detective Randall Gibbons of the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office is the case’s principal investigator.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. A person is innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
