State Police in Louisiana Investigating Fatal Deputy-Involved Shooting at Crime Scene in Caddo Parish

Caddo Parish, Louisiana - State police in Louisiana are investigating a fatal deputy-involved shooting at a crime scene in Caddo Parish.

At around 1:50 a.m. on August 30, 2023, authorities from the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office were called to handle a domestic conflict on the 4000 block of Old Mooringsport Road. Upon reaching the location, the deputies confronted a male individual. In the ensuing encounter, gunfire was traded.

The man was hit and later confirmed dead at the scene. No deputies sustained injuries in this event.

While inspecting the premises, the officers found a dead woman inside the home.

The Caddo Parish Sheriff's Office contacted Louisiana State Police to investigate the shooting incident involving a deputy. Investigators from the State Police are working on the crime scene and attempting to collect additional data.
