Lake Charles, Louisiana – Residents of the Southwest Louisiana region, District 07, are invited to participate in the annual “Road Show,” a public hearing hosted by the Joint Transportation, Highways, & Public Works Committee. The event, scheduled for Thursday, October 17, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., will take place at the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury Council Chambers in Lake Charles.

The primary purpose of the hearing is to review highway construction priorities for the fiscal year 2025-2026 and gather input from the public. The Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) representatives, along with legislators and other elected officials, will be present to discuss and provide information about construction projects outlined in the preliminary FY 25-26 Highway Priority Program.

These projects affect various areas of the state, and the Road Show provides an opportunity for attendees to express their views and ask questions. Oral testimony can be supplemented with written statements and documentation, which can be presented to the committee or mailed to the Joint Transportation, Highways, & Public Works Committee at the address provided.

Written comments and statements should be postmarked within 45 calendar days following the hearing.

The meeting will also be available to listen to via Zoom.
