From LADOTD – The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) announces a project to install a southbound right-turn lane on LA 378 (Davis Road) at Philips Road in Westlake. The project, which costs more than $400 thousand, will construct the new turn lane at the intersection of Davis Road and Philips Road to alleviate congestion and improve traffic flow at the signalized intersection.

The contractor, John Baily, Inc., is expected to begin construction on January 4, 2021. Lane closures utilizing a flagging operation will occur between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. as needed. The entire project is estimated to be complete in summer 2021.

All construction activity is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.

DOTD appreciates the motoring public’s patience and reminds drivers to please exercise caution when traveling through work zone areas and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment. Area residents should exercise caution when driving, walking, or biking near an active work zone.
