Enforcement agents from the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries reportedly issued citations to six individuals for alleged violations related to migratory game birds in Webster Parish on September 15.

Authorities have issued citations to Chance Mouser, 18, from Haughton, Louisiana, Riley Pate, 19, from Sibley, Louisiana, James O'Rear, 20, from Benton, Louisiana, Ashton Stewart, 20, from Dubberly, Louisiana, George Chambers, 18, from Benton, Louisiana, and Landon Talley, 18, from Haughton, Louisiana for hunting migratory birds in a baited area. Moreover, Mouser was charged with the additional offenses of setting up bait for hunting migratory birds and aiding and abetting others in the act of hunting these birds in a baited area.

Officers were patrolling the Crane Lake section of Lake Bistineau when they spotted individuals hunting teal in a baited area. The agents confiscated two teal and gave them to a nearby charity.

The case features involvement from various agents including Zac Funderburk, Will Holomon, who holds the rank of Sergeant, Corporal Justin Greer, another agent named Trace Francis, Sergeant Chuck Dison, and Corporals Emily Sexton and John Blalock.

All cases related to baiting migratory game birds are handled by the U.S. Attorney's Office and are pursued in Federal Court.

All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
