Livingston Parish, Louisiana - At around 10:00 a.m. on November 27, Troopers from Louisiana State Police Troop A initiated an inquiry into a solo car crash on LA 444 east of LA 63 in Livingston Parish. Sadly, the crash resulted in the passing of Gary Demars, a 73-year-old resident of Livingston, Louisiana.

Initial Findings in Louisiana Crash

According to the initial findings by LSP, Demars was driving an eastbound 2005 Mercury Grand Marquis on LA 444 when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle veered off the road and collided with the eastbound ditch. Despite wearing a seatbelt, Demars did not survive his injuries and died at the scene.

As part of the ongoing investigation, a sample was taken from Demars for toxicology analysis.

Suggestions From Louisiana State Police

Louisiana State Police emphasizes to drivers the importance of making responsible choices while behind the wheel: never drive under the influence or while fatigued or distracted, obey all traffic regulations, and ensure that all occupants are properly restrained. While not every crash can be survived, adhering to these simple precautions can often determine whether someone lives or dies.
