Should Calcasieu Parish Schools Switch to Four Day Weeks?
A recent post on social media suggesting that Calcasieu Parish Schools consider switching to a four day school week is getting a lot of attention.
The public post made by Stephanie Wilson in a local Facebook Group simply stated:
“I wish this was something Calcasieu would look into”
She also included a link to an article titled No More Mondays. Colorado School District Moves to 4 Day Weeks – While the school district plans on saving money, some parents will have to pay a little more for child care. published by WBIR, an NBC-affiliated television station in Knoxville, Tennessee.
The article indicates that the Colorado Shcool district is making the change to entice quality teachers and save the district money.
Some of the comments from people in the Southwest Louisiana group indicate that locals have mixed feelings about the idea of Calcasieu Parish schools adopting a four-day schedule.
