Shooting Victim Located in Louisiana After Shot Spotter Alert, Authorities Asking For Help Identifying Suspect
Baton Rouge, Louisiana – Authorities in Louisiana are asking for help in identifying a suspect after a Shot Spotter alert resulted in police locating a deceased shooting victim.
On July 7, 2023, at approximately 8:35 pm, a fatal shooting took place in the 200 block of West Johnson Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Baton Rouge Police Homicide Detectives have initiated an investigation into the matter. Uniformed officers received notification of gunshots in the area via BRPD’s Shot Spotter program. During their search, they discovered the body of Jaylan Stanton, 30, in a grassy vacant lot. It was determined that Stanton had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At present, no information regarding the motive or suspect of the incident is available.
