Shooting Suspect In Louisiana Apprehended After School Resource Officer Chases Gunman

Shreveport, Louisiana – A suspect who had been allegedly shooting near a school in Louisiana was apprehended after a school resource officer chased the gunman.

The Shreveport Police Department reported on May 1, 2023, that on April 28, a Shreveport Police Officer was working off duty as a school resource officer at Judson Fundamental Elementary School when he reportedly heard many rounds fired from a firearm. After securing the school, the officer went in the direction of the bullets fired and saw a Kia SUV driving away with a male shooting out an open window.

The resource officer was able to radio for assistance from other officers in the area, and the vehicle was located in the 3800 block of Milton Street. The automobile was also discovered to have been stolen recently. Officers from the Violent Crimes Abatement team apprehended Quincy Bogan (12-16-2004) and three juveniles for these alleged offenses.

Officers seized the firearm and arrested Bogan on one count of being in possession of a stolen firearm, three counts of illegal use of a weapon, one count of theft of a firearm, one count of illegal possession of a stolen vehicle, and one count of simple burglary.

Authorities indicated that no one was injured during the incident.

An arrest is an indication that probable cause exists to believe the subject was involved in the offense alleged. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
