Lake Charles, Louisiana – The National Weather Service in Lake Charles has reported that Southwest Louisiana may be in for potentially severe weather on Thursday, November 30 with forecasters predicting the possibility of tornadoes, damaging winds, and large hail.

The severe weather is expected to develop on Thursday and continue into Thursday night, creating a potentially dangerous situation.

In addition to the possibility of tornadoes, damaging winds are expected to accompany the storm system. These strong winds can knock down trees, and power lines, and cause structural damage. Residents are advised to secure loose outdoor objects, such as patio furniture and trash cans, to prevent them from becoming projectiles in high winds.

Hail is also a threat associated with this severe weather event.
