Severe Weather Leaves Thousands in Calcasieu Parish Without Electricity

Calcasieu, Parish, Louisiana – According to Entergy, as of 5:20 pm, there were approximately 23,000 customers without power in Calcasieu Parish. The outages were due to severe storms that passed through the area on Monday, May 13, 2024.

The Entergy Outage Map indicates that all or nearly all of Vinton and Starks are without power. Approximately half of the customers in both Sulphur and Westlake were also without power, along with some customers in Lake Charles and Iowa, as well as rural areas of Calcasieu Parish.

At the time this was published, there was no estimated restoration time for power in these areas.
